Walnut Date Cake
with Kiri ®

Fantastic with after-dinner tea or coffee, this date cake has beautifully smooth flavor thanks to softened dates, creamy squares of Kiri, sweetened condensed milk and melted butter. Chopped walnuts add a subtle crunch.

Serves 6

Ingredients

  • 4 Kiri squares
  • 400 grams of dates, pitted
  • 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup of walnuts, chopped
  • 150 grams of butter
  • 150 grams of flour
  • 1/2  cup of baking soda
  • 150 milliliter of water

Directions

STEP 1
Mix Kiri squares with dates, butter, water, condensed milk and walnuts.

STEP 2
Place mixture over low heat until the dates are smooth, and then leave mixture to cool.

STEP 3
Mix flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon and add it to the date mixture, stirring until completely combined.

STEP 4
Spoon mixture in a cake pan greased with butter sprinkled with flour and bake at 160°C for 45 minutes.
Garnish

 Once it’s cooled, sprinkle powdered sugar over the cake.
